So last night was girl's night out (or in, as the case was). We ate too many hors d'oeuvres, drank too much wine, talked about work too much, and then finally sat down to watch a chick-flick.
The movie of choice was Under The Tuscan Sun. I hadn't ever seen it before, but wish I had. The film is so inspiring.
Except, how did she afford it all? What are the logistics of making a move like that? Can I take my dog? What will I do for work?
My research thus far has been internet searches for farmhouses for sale in Tuscany. Then I thought that Positano looked beautiful in the movie, and may be cheaper than trying to find a reasonably priced villa in a hotspot like Tuscany. Positano was also featured in Only You, with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey, Jr...which is a movie that I had forgotten I loved. http://www.italiancountryhomes.com/index.php
So, the once-in-a-blue-moon girl's night out turned out to be an inspiration. I give myself 5 years to buy my restoration villa. Check back :) I'm going to try to keep this blog going and updated as I get closer to this goal.
In the meantime, I leave for an Austrian vacation tomorrow!
